My Review
An interesting little story with cozy-ish elements, thought probably a bit more stakes and teeth than a true cozy fantasy would have. I’m a sucker for found family, food, and second chances, so this one is pretty much spot on targeted at me.
It was an effortless read that never felt too slow and I never had to pause to reread or figure out where things were at. I’d pick up a sequel if the author ever decided to follow Tytli’s journey from the end of the book or a coming-of-age tale about Astra.

The Light of the Chosen, they call themselves. A small group, unhappy with their lot in the city. Feel like the living should always be above the dead. Any happiness in the afterlives of the undead means unhappiness for the living in some twisted way, as if happiness is a finite resource.
